Teddy climbed the fence into the backyard. He walked towards the rear of the house. So far, things were going great.
Picking the window he wanted, Teddy went to open it. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Cecily leaps atop him, barking.
The backdoor opens, “Sneaking in late again?”

Lap Cat
My nose is dripping, and Delia is tracing her fingers through my hair. Her husband is shirtless by the microwave, heating up leftovers from New Year's Eve. In 60 seconds, I'll be shoving mouthfuls of risotto between my quivering lips like a child and picking at semi-stale dinner rolls. Then, I'll pass my plate to one of their three Tabby cats (whom I can never tell apart) and let him/her/them (?) lick it clean.

The Colorado Kid
The sun was setting low over the mountain. Pike’s Peak loomed in the distance casting a shadow over the dusty streets of Spencer, Colorado. The lights in the houses along the house row been lit and the good people of Spencer had taken to their homes for dinner and rest.
