A Dress Remembered
A reflection carried forward through time
By Xhevrije PrisojPublished a day ago • 1 min read

It hasn’t been worn in three decades,
yet it remains in my closet.
An elegant off-white dress,
lace patterns tracing the bodice,
a sheer mesh overlay,
delicate cap sleeves.
It floated down to my ankles,
simple and sophisticated.
I loved the reflection,
when I looked in the mirror.
And now, when I think about that moment,
I realize I didn’t vanish,
I simply evolved.

I’m a writer shaped by two homes and the spaces between them. My work blends memoir and poetic prose, exploring identity, nostalgia, and the emotional landscapes we return to again and again. I write to remember, to soften, and to connect.
