Abandon a Promise

that no longer serves you

Abandon a Promise

I vowed to hold the past and never part,

To clutch each memory as if my own.

Yet time unbinds the shadows from my heart,

And grief dissolves where stubborn roots had grown.

To leave behind what once was safe and known,

Reveals a dawn that trembles, soft and new.

Each step away, a seed of self is sown,

And pain transforms to strength in morning’s hue.

Now open arms accept what life may send,

Old echoes fade, their whispers lost in air.

The empty space invites the soul to mend,

With hope alight, a canvas bright and rare.

Abandoning my promise, I ascend,

To heal, to love, to wander, and transcend.

Howdy! There is relatable stuff here- dark and twisty and some sentimental garbage. "Don't forget to tip your waitresses" Hi, I am your waitress, let me serve you with more content. Hope you enjoy! :)
