A Short Love Story Inspired by Richard Osman's House of Games
I didn’t know that Marilyn Monroe’s name in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” was Lorelei Lee, I found it out on Richard Osman’s “House of Games” and that kicked me off to write a love poem based on the concept of the Lorelei.

Then I Fell In Love Headlong
I caught your beautiful eye

Above the sea, so aloof
Your voice so sweet, Alluring
Be My Queen, You Have My Heart
I Will Never Be Turning

My Lorelei, Sea Maiden
Mermaid girl, With voice of gold
Love your gentle persuasion
One day each other we’ll hold
My Lorelei, I Am Yours
And So This Love Will Endure

The Irony of Flying While We Bomb the "World's Greatest Terror Regime"
Ah, the irony of flying at this moment in time as the United States is simultaneously bombing Iran - the nation officials have insisted for decades is "The World's Greatest Terror Regime" - while the TSA is on a go-slow, courtesy of a funding squeeze that's left its officers unpaid, quitting in droves, and turning checkpoints into something like slow-moving bread lines.
