When Silence Teaches

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 2 hours ago 1 min read

Verse 1

You fill the room with every word you’ve ever learned,

In circles made of echoes from the places you have burned.

But the shadows on the walls begin to shift behind your voice,

As if the light is waiting for a quieter choice.

Pre Chorus

The truth won’t rise for those who speak too soon.

It hides in the corners where the dark guards the moon.

Chorus

When you talk, you walk the halls you already know,

Tracing old steps through the dust of your shadow.

But when you listen, something ancient breaks through—

A whisper from the void that was waiting for you.

Verse 2

The silence holds a doorway that your voice can never find,

A secret carved in places far beyond the waking mind.

The world behind the world begins to open when you’re still,

And knowledge drifts toward you like a ghost with its own will.

Pre Chorus

The quiet night reveals what daylight can’t explain.

It speaks in quiet pulses through the bone, the marrow and the vein.

Chorus

When you talk, you walk the halls you already know,

Tracing old steps through the dust of your shadow.

But when you listen, something ancient breaks through—

A whisper from the void that was waiting for you.

Bridge

The silence becomes a teacher when your voice begins to fade,

And every truth you feared becomes a shape your quietness made.

The unknown leans closer with a cold and steady breath,

Offering its wisdom like a pact beyond death.

Final Chorus

When you talk, you bind yourself to what you’ve been before,

Locked inside the stories behind a closed door.

But when you listen, the unseen pulls you through—

And its light becomes a guide that is older than you.
