To get There from Here

The post-inner-journey integration

By Gabriel ShamesPublished about 5 hours ago Updated about 5 hours ago 1 min read
Don’t ask a sign…

It’s easy to look forward to the inner journey. It’s easy to seek the next transcendental state. It’s easy to up the ante a shoot for a massively “bigger” experience next time.

What isn’t easy… that we don’t want to face, that we don’t know how to integrate… is what comes after.

What comes after the revelation, what you were so sure was a revolution inside your mind?

We all have our modalities — but whether it’s metitation, metaphysics, or psychedelics — it usually starts and ends the same way.

The problem with revelation is bringing it from that state into your everyday state.

How do you remember when the light is no longer shining? How to you keep acting on it after you no longer feel interconnected, or floaty?

Bringing the extraordinary into the ordinary. Isn’t that what so many of the great thinkers said?

You gotta keep ahold of “it” anyway you can. Whether that’s changing one action in the morning, or one thought late at night.

We either contend change must be resisted, or expect a huge leap. When the reality is more likely neither.
